What did a Celtic hillfort look like 2,000 years ago? How did the inhabitants protect themselves from their enemies? How did our ancestors live in Europe's largest Celtic hillfort? Which weapons did warriors use? Answers to these and other questions can be found on the path around the mighty hillfort.
Ten stops with information in German, French, English and Dutch give you an insight into the secrets that archaeologists have found during their excavations. Learn more about the Celts, the mighty gate system, the water supply at the well, the construction of the wall or the settlement of the inner plateau. Enjoy the wonderful nature and a unique monument.

A total of 18 contemporary artists from 15 European countries give an insight into the art of the Celts with their sculptures. Using materials from the region, mainly sandstone, but also wood and iron to meet the reference to the Celts. Experience European art on the unique circular route.

Hubertusrunde
Hikers can expect steep climbs to the scenic viewpoints on Schankelberg and Hascheid. There are beautiful views of the valley of the Prims and the dam in Nonnweiler. Narrow paths lead through old beeches to idyllic stream passages along the Prims and the Forstelbach. Below the top of the Kahlenberg you hike through cool, shady paths through the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park.
Dollbergschleife
The Züscher Hammer, the largest ironworks in the Hunsrück in the 17th century and the Celtic Ringwall Otzenhausen on the Dollberg, one of the most impressive Celtic fortifications in Europe, convey the history of the iron industry and that of the Celts. On the trail you pass the Primstalsperre, the largest drinking water reservoir in Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland.
