Celtic life in the region

The Celtic hillfort of Otzenhausen is one of the most impressive Celtic fortifications in Europe. Built in the first century BC the ten-meter-high walls still testify to the epic monument. Excavations, regular guided tours, workshops and archaeological seminars invite you to visit Otzenhausen.

At the foot of the hillfort, the Keltenpark Otzenhausen is being built. Currently, it consists of an outdoor stage and a reconstructed Celtic Village. In the coming years, a visitor center with exhibitions and restaurant will follow. The Keltenpark is the only National Park gate to the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park located in Saarland.
